If you have a single handle kitchen faucet that drips, there are several quick fixes you can use. This easy repair should take you no more than 10 minutes. Before you begin, you should purchase new O-rings for the faucet. You can ask a home improvement store specialist for the correct O-ring size. Remove the plastic cover on the handle. A flathead screwdriver or knife can be used to remove it. Then, loosen the hex screw with an Allen wrench.

Remove the decorative plastic cap

A dripping single handle copper finish kitchen faucet is likely caused by a worn-out cartridge. The cartridge under the handle is responsible for mixing hot and cold water, delivering a different temperature based on the position of the handle. It may be damaged or simply worn and allow water to seep through. To access the cartridge, remove the decorative plastic cap with a pocket knife. Then, you can unscrew the screw that holds the handle in place.

Remove the cartridge

Once you've removed the retaining clip, remove the cartridge. You can replace the entire cartridge or just the O-rings, depending on the type of faucet. You can purchase new faucet parts at a hardware or home improvement store. To fix the cartridge, follow the instructions included in the repair kit. During the installation process, remember to label each part, and keep them separate. Once the cartridge is replaced, you're ready to install the faucet.

Use a video

To replace the cartridge, you can try soaking the defective part in vinegar or calcium remover, and then reattaching the handles. Next, open the water valve and check for leaks. If the faucet is still dripping water, you can try to clean the aerator by hand or using a video. Be sure to use an Allen wrench, as the plastic inside the faucet can break if over-tightened.

If you're unsure of which part of the faucet is dripping, you can test the water flow by placing a dry towel underneath the spout. If the towel is wet, the leak is most likely coming from the valve. Replace these parts as soon as you can. By following these steps, you can streamline the flow of water in your kitchen. Then, the dripping faucet will be back to normal.

To fix a dripping single handle kitchen faucet, you must turn off the water source. You can find a shutoff valve under the sink or on the water main. To do this, you must fully close the shutoff valves, either hot or cold. If the leak continues after shutting off the valves, it may be a sign that there's another source of water from the other lines. Once the water supply has been shut off, you can proceed to the next step to repair the faucet.

The next step is to buy a faucet repair kit. These kits come with all of the tools and parts you need to repair a faucet. Most of them contain the tools you need to take the faucet apart. If you don't have any of these tools, you can simply buy one at a local hardware store. The parts will be grouped by type. If your faucet has a rotary ball, you will also need the corresponding repair kit.

The Ridgid basin wrench comes with an integrated LED light. It requires two batteries, but it also has a timer, which should help extend the life of the batteries. It also features an adjustable handle and a molded rubber grip. It is also durable and comes with a lifetime warranty. Its head is made from cast iron, which means it can handle heavy loads. Nivito
